Australia Military Forces Bronzed Shoulder Title, by Stokes and Sons, Melbourne

An original bronzed shoulder title reading “AUSTRALIA”, as worn by members of the Australian Military Forces during both World War I and World War II. This example is marked by the Australian manufacturer Stokes & Sons of Melbourne.

Struck in bronzed brass with lug fittings to the reverse, this shoulder title was typically affixed to the upper shoulder straps of service dress uniforms. Its bold, plain design ensured easy identification of Australian personnel serving at home or overseas.
