Belgian Medal of the National Committee for Assistance and Food Supply (Medaille du Comite National de Secours et d’Alimentation), struck in bronze, representing the 4th Class of the medal. This humanitarian award was created during the First World War to recognise individuals and organisations who contributed to the relief and food supply efforts in occupied Belgium between 1914 and 1918. The circular bronze medal depicts a crowned female bust representing “la Belgique” within an oak wreath. The reverse features centrally the monogram of the National Committee ‘CN’ with the dates 1914 – 1918 to the left and right, above and below are representations of a cereal crop plant.
