Queen’s South Africa 3-Bar (3rd Type) Medal, Lance Corporal G Moir (service number 5140), 1st Seaforth Highlanders (18th Mounted Infantry)

Not much is known. Lance Corporal Moir (Corporal at the time of his death) served with the 1st Battalion, Seaforth Highlanders (part of the 18th Mounted Infantry) in South Africa. He was noted as having died at Pinetown Bridge, likely at the Princess Christian Hospital, from disease or accident. He is listed on the Dingwall Boer War Memorial.

He is also entitled to the Queen’s Sudan Medal as part of the 1st Seaforth Highlanders.
