Original cap badge of the Suffolk Regiment, produced to the 1901–1953 pattern bearing the King’s Crown. Introduced following the redesign of the cap badge after the Boer War, this pattern remained in use throughout the Edwardian period, the First World War, and the inter-war years, continuing into the end of the reign of King George VI. The design features the regiment’s traditional castle emblem, surrounded by scrolls, surmounted by the King’s Crown, reflecting the regiment’s long association with the county.

The badge is struck in bimetal (white metal and gilding metal) with well-defined detail, typical of early to mid-20th-century manufacture. The reverse is fitted with an original hook slider for attachment to a cap or helmet.

Dimensions
Approx. 46mm x 42mm

Condition
Very good, with clear detail and an attractive aged patina. The hook slider fitting is intact and secure, and the surface shows only light wear consistent with period use.
