Imperial German Model 1871 Mauser Bayonet, dated 1875, in its original (although non-matching) leather scabbard with brass mounts. Also fits the Mauser 1871/84 and 1888 Rifles.
Scabbard marked with “52. R. 13. 148” on the locket with an imperial cypher which may be Wilhelm the First’s but isn’t clear. The chape is marked “W” with a crown, making it Prussian. On the steel cross guard, the regimental markings read “79. R. 4. 154”. The ricasso is marked “P. D. Luneschloss, Solingen”
Condition: Very good for a century-and-a-half-old bayonet. The brass chape is pretty dented up and there are some minor dings in the grip, locket and towards the tip of the blade.
