15th (East Yorkshire) Regiment of Foot (Pre-1881 Pattern) Button. This large-sized 25mm button features:

The classic Roman numeral “15” within a wreath and Garter star.

Convex brass construction typical of mid- to late-19th-century British infantry buttons.

A well-preserved original shank to the reverse.
These buttons were worn on tunics by members of the 15th Foot (East Yorkshire) during campaigns such as the Crimean War and the subsequent decades leading into the regiment’s redesignation as The East Yorkshire Regiment in 1881.
