Canadian Expeditionary Force 51st Regiment (Soo Rifles) cap badge, following the 1914–1920 pattern design worn during the First World War. The original regiment, raised in Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario, contributed personnel to the Canadian Expeditionary Force (CEF) during the Great War, serving both in Canada and overseas.
The badge displays the side profile of a Soo chieftain resting upon scrolls reading “51 / CANADA / SOO RIFLES”. Die-struck in gilding metal, this restrike accurately replicates the detail and depth of the early wartime issue pattern. The reverse is fitted with a hook slider fitting for attachment to the headdress.
