An original and early manufacture cap badge of the 6th (Inniskilling) Dragoons, likely dating from the early 20th century, into the early period of World War I.
Struck in bimetal, this badge features the castle of Enniskillen (Inniskilling) in white metal with a scroll reading “Inniskilling” below in gilding metal. The reverse is fitted with an original copper east-west eyed lugs — typical of early manufacture.
The 6th Dragoons had a distinguished service history throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, including the Battle of Waterloo and the Boer War. This pattern remained in use until the regiment’s amalgamation in 1922 with the 5th Dragoon Guards to form the 5th/6th Dragoons (Inniskilling Dragoon Guards).
Condition: Very Good – Crisp detail with minor age wear, original slider intact and firm.
Dimensions: Approx. 45mm x 44mm
