An original example of the Army Veterinary Corps (AVC) cap badge.
The badge, die-struck in bimetal, depicts the AVC initials in the centre in white metal with a gilding metal wreath, surmounted by a King’s crown (Tudor crown). On the reverse is a hook slider fitting
This design remained in place during the Great War until receiving the “Royal” title in 1918 for recognition of its service.
Condition: Very good; however, the hook has been replaced
