Inert British 30mm AFV (Armoured Fighting Vehicle) RADEN shell, dated 1996, produced for use with the L21A1 RADEN cannon. The RADEN system, developed by Royal Ordnance, was fitted to several post–Cold War British armoured vehicles, including the FV510 Warrior Infantry Fighting Vehicle and other turret-mounted weapon systems.
This example comprises a brass shell case and a solid projectile, both completely inert and safe for display. The case is clearly headstamped with “30mm AFV / 96 (1996) / RG (Radway Green) / 100”. The round represents the 30×170 mm cartridge type, developed for both ground and naval automatic cannon applications within NATO service.
