British War Medal 1914-20, Private Percy Barnard Longley, The Queen’s (Royal West Surrey) Regiment.

Percy, born in 1895 in St. Saviour, Southwark, London to John and Louisa Longley, worked as a cabinet maker and lived with his brother in Tottenham, London before the war. He would join the 1/5th Battalion, The Queen’s Regiment for the duration of the war, later serving in the Third Afghanistan War during 1919 in the 1st Battalion, South Lancashire Regiment, which he was awarded the India General Service Medal 1908 with Northwest Frontier 1919 bar. Percy married Rosina Longley in Edmonton, Middlesex in 1931 and lived at 16 Shanklin Road, Tottenham, London N15. He died in Ilford, Essex in 1964
