A contemporary miniature of the Delhi Durbar Medal 1911, produced to replicate the award issued to British and Indian military and civil personnel who participated in, or were present at, the great Imperial Durbar held in Delhi to mark the coronation of King George V as Emperor of India.
Description
This miniature follows the standard pattern of the official 1911 medal:

Form: Circular silvered white metal miniature medal.

Obverse: Conjoined crowned busts of King George V and Queen Mary facing left within a floral wreath of roses.

Reverse:Â A Persian legend that translates as “The Durbar of George V, Emperor of India, Master of the British Land.”

Ribbon: Dark blue with two narrow crimson side stripes, identical to the ribbon used on the full-size medal.
As a contemporary miniature, it is a later private or jeweller-made piece intended for mess dress, display, or group mounting rather than an officially issued period miniature.
