An original Victorian to Edwardian era brass shoulder title featuring the letters “DG”, worn by the Dragoon Guards from approximately 1885 to 1913. This early pattern title was affixed to the shoulder straps of tunics worn by various Dragoon Guards regiments, denoting cavalry service within the British Army’s heavy cavalry formations.
Manufactured in brass with twin lug fittings to the reverse, this type is associated with the late 19th to early 20th century, prior to this design being dropped in favour of specific titles.
