Original example of the Durham Light Infantry (DLI) cap badge, dating to the c.1896–1901 pattern, issued during the late Victorian era.
This cap badge features a bugle horn, surmounted by the Imperial (Victorian) Crown with “DLI” in the centre. Struck in white metal, this pattern was worn on the forage cap by other ranks during the closing years of Queen Victoria’s reign.
On the reverse is north-south positioned eyed lugs.
Condition: Very good. Original lugs intact and functional.
