Collar badge of the Essex Yeomanry, produced to the 1901-1909 pattern. This design was worn before the First World War, bearing the King’s crown. Collar badges of this pattern were worn in pairs on service dress tunics.

Manufactured in gilding metal, the badge is die-struck with clear relief, featuring the Essex County shield surrounded by a circlet inscribed “Audacter et Sincere” (Gallant and Loyal). The reverse is fitted with lugs for attachment to the collar.

Dimensions
Approx. 35mm x 26mm

Condition
Very good, however slightly mistruck, with well-defined detail and an even-aged patina. Light wear is present, consistent with period use, and the lugs remain intact and secure.
