Collar badge of the Essex Yeomanry, produced to the 1909–1953 pattern. This design was worn throughout the First World War, the inter-war years, and the Second World War, during which the regiment served in both cavalry and armoured roles. Collar badges of this pattern were worn in pairs on service dress tunics.

Manufactured in gilding metal, the badge is die-struck with clear relief, showing the Essex County shield with a circlet reading ” Decus et Tutamen” (Shield and Protection). The reverse is fitted with lugs for attachment to the collar.

Dimensions
Approx. 35mm x 24mm

Condition
Very good, with well-defined detail and an even-aged patina. Light wear is present, consistent with period use, and the lugs remain intact and secure.
