French Foreign Legion P13 Fighting Knife with Scabbard. Made after the Second World War with a British Pattern 1913 bayonet and U.S. M1917 scabbard modified as a combat knife. After the war, France is believed to have purchased these bayonets and scabbards, shortening the blades and scabbards while removing the muzzle rings to convert them into practical combat knives. Some also had a leather belt hanger for ease of use.
Marked on the ricasso “1913, 12 16, Remington” on one side and inspector marks on the reverse. 188mm bowie-like blade. Unit markings on the pommel but are illegible
