German ‘walking out’ or Parade bayonet. Nickel plated hilt with ‘Birds head’ pommel, with working bayonet catch, and nickel crossguard with swept-back quillon. Diamond chequered black bakerlite brips held by two dome head steel rivets. 9.5″/245mm single edged,single fullered nickel plated blade, ricasso marked with ‘Eickhorn Solingen’ ‘Squirrel Holding a Nut’ logo. Complete in black Japanned steel scabbard,
Nickel plating to bayonet blade showing some very light abrasions but the rest of bayonet only shows only slight lifting of nickel plating to pommel and finish to scabbard, good to very good.
