Irish Guards cap badge produced as a restrike of the traditional pattern worn by the Irish Guards of the British Army. This Foot Guards cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the eight-pointed Star of the Order of St Patrick as the principal device. At the centre appears the cross of St Patrick within a circular strap bearing the motto “Quis Separabit,” meaning “Who shall separate us,” a long-standing motto associated with Irish regiments and the date “MDCCLXXXIII” (1783), the date in which the Order of St. Patrick was instituted.

The Irish Guards were raised in 1900 by Queen Victoria to commemorate the bravery of Irish soldiers who served during the Second Boer War. The regimental badge reflects Irish heraldic symbolism and the traditions of the Household Division. The design has remained largely unchanged since the regiment’s formation and continues to represent one of the most recognisable insignia of the Foot Guards.

Manufactured in brass consistent with service dress wear, this restrike example provides a sharply defined representation of the traditional regimental pattern. Irish Guards cap badges are collected as examples of Household Division militaria, British Army Guards insignia, and historic regimental uniform hardware.
