A matching pair of original anodised aluminium collar badges to the Queen Alexandra’s Royal Army Nursing Corps (QARANC), bearing the Queen’s Crown, introduced post-1953. These staybrite collar badges were worn on the Service Dress and No. 2 Dress uniform by officers and other ranks of the corps. Each badge features the finely detailed laurel wreath surrounding a cross with an “A” for Queen Alexandra and a scroll that reads “QARANC” and surmounted by a Queen’s Crown, all manufactured in bright gold and silver-finish anodised aluminium.
QARANC succeeded the Queen Alexandra’s Imperial Military Nursing Service (QAIMNS) in 1949 and has played a vital role in military healthcare from post-WW2 operations through to modern deployments.
