An original Royal Army Chaplains Department (RAChD) officer’s collar badge, featuring the Queen’s Crown (ERII), worn by commissioned chaplains serving within the Christian denomination of the department. The RAChD provides spiritual and moral guidance to soldiers of all faiths and has been an integral part of the British Army since its formal establishment in 1796.
This finely made officer’s badge is die-cast in gilt metal, displaying an open wreath of laurel enclosing a Maltese Cross with the crown above, and a central tablet bearing the motto “In This Sign Conquer”. The reverse retains the correct two-loop fittings, consistent with officers’ issue post-1953.
