Helmet plate for the Royal Marine Band, Portsmouth Division, produced to the pre-1953 pattern incorporating the King’s Crown. The plate features the traditional Royal Marines design with globe and laurel wreath, surmounted by the King’s Crown, set within an ornate starburst backing typical of ceremonial helmet plates, with the addition of the George V cypher on the fouled anchor. Representing one of the most distinguished bands within the Royal Marines, this pattern reflects both the musical and ceremonial heritage of the Corps, as worn on full dress helmets during parades and state occasions.
