Restrike cap badge of the Scottish Horse, produced for wear on the slouch hat rather than standard service caps. The Scottish Horse was raised during the Second Boer War and later served as a yeomanry and armoured unit, and its slouch hat badge is a distinctive and recognisable form of the regiment’s insignia. The design features the St. Andrew’s cross with a circlet reading “SCOTTISH HORSE / 1900” within a wreath.
Made in brass, this restrike example closely follows the original pattern, with clear striking and well-defined detail. It is intended for display, re-enactment, or reference collections and is fitted on the reverse with modern lugs for attachment.
Dimensions
Approx. 44mm x 46mm
Condition
Excellent, with sharp detail and a clean brass finish. The lugs are intact and secure, and the badge shows only minimal handling wear.
