US Army Air Force M1942 Folding Aircrew Machete by Cattaraugus

USAAF M1942 Folding Aircrew Machete. Adopted in 1942 for use in American Aircrew during the Second World War and originally carried folded in the seat pack attached to parachutes. With a 251mm single-edged “bolo” style blade, composite slab grips rivetted in place and locking catch.

Marked on the blade “Cattaraugus, USA” however is hardly legible

Overall condition: Very good, however as mentioned the markings aren’t clear
