Uniform button of the Warwickshire Yeomanry, produced to the pre–1956 pattern, previous to its amalgamation into the Queen’s Own Warwickshire and Worcestershire Yeomanry. The regiment served in both mounted and armoured roles, with this style of button worn on service dress and ceremonial uniforms throughout the First World War, the inter-war years, and into the early post-war period.
Manufactured in brass and die-struck with clear relief, the button depicts the Bear and Ragged Staff of Warwickshire. The reverse is fitted with a fixed shank for sewing to uniform garments.
Diameter
23.5mm
Condition
Very good, with crisp detail and an even-aged patina. Light surface wear is present, consistent with age and period use. The shank remains intact and secure.
