French Model 1777 ANIX Charlieville reproduction socket bayonet in scabbard
Model 1777 ANIX Charlieville flintlock musket socket bayonet, complete in brown leather scabbard, with ‘buff’ leather throat and securing tag, internal steel chape. 17″/43 cm triangular blade. Bayonet dimensions , the muzzle ring diameter is 21.2mm at the back, 21.2mm at the front, the socket is 66mm long, and the blade is 43cm. Measurements are approximate, using a hand-held micrometre. The bayonet locks on a bayonet stud affixed to the underside of the barrel, unlike a British socket bayonet that locks on the fore-sight block.
