An original and early example of the 1st Royal Dragoons cap badge, worn from 1901 to 1947.
Struck in bimetal, this badge features the King’s crown and lion in gilding metal with a scroll below in white metal that reads “The Royal Dragoons”. This early pattern includes the original copper east-west eyed lugs on the reverse, consistent with Edwardian-era manufacture.

This badge was worn through the reigns of Edward VII, George V, and George VI, seeing service in both the First and Second World Wars. The regiment retained this pattern until 1947, later changing to the design of the Eagle Standard of the French 105th, and later amalgamated in 1969 with the Royal Horse Guards to form The Blues and Royals.

Condition: Very Good – Excellent detail, minor age patina. The top lug has been removed/broken
