Brockville Rifles cap badge in chrome, representing a Canadian Army Reserve infantry regiment based in Brockville, Ontario. The regiment traces its lineage to the local volunteer militia units raised during the nineteenth century and was known as the Brockville Rifles from 1946. It forms part of the military heritage of eastern Ontario and the Canadian Militia.
The badge features a detailed Maltese cross, prominently displaying a hunting horn at its centre, which is encircled by a decorative garter inscribed with “THE BROCKVILLE RIFLES”. Atop the cross rests a Queen’s Crown, while the upper and lower arms are embellished with battle honours “Amiens” and “Pursuit to Mons” from the First World War.
The chrome pattern dates from approximately 1959 to 2022, covering the later twentieth century and the reign of Queen Elizabeth II. The badge displays the regiment’s identifying insignia in a bright, polished metal construction, characteristic of post-war Canadian military cap badges. It is of interest to collectors of Canadian regimental insignia, Canadian Army Reserve badges and twentieth-century Commonwealth militaria.
