A rare British 4.2-inch naval brass shell case, dated 1900 and manufactured by King’s Norton Metal Company Limited. This solid brass shell casing represents late Victorian Royal Navy ordnance. It would have originally housed a projectile for use in naval deck guns aboard British warships during the turn of the 20th century.

Marked on the base with “KMN” (King’s Norton Metal) and a “8 1900” date stamp, along with other typical ordnance acceptance marks and “CF” (Cordite Filled). The case features a protruding primer which is marked “R (Broad Arrow) L” (Royal Laboratories) as well as date marking “99” (1899,) as well as various other inspector marks, most of which have been crossed out

Condition: Very good. Shell case retains a strong polish with light patina. Markings remain clear and well-defined. No cracks or major damage.
