An original British 105mm Field Gun brass shell case, dated 1969 on the base and 1970 on the fuse, in fully inert and demilitarised condition. This shell case was used with the L118 Light Gun and other 105mm artillery pieces in service with the British Army and NATO allies during and after the Cold War era. These cases were commonly used in live-fire exercises and operational service, including conflicts from the 1970s onward.
Manufactured in solid brass, the case features clear headstamp markings “105mm Fd/RW297/ LOT 47 (Broad Arrow)/RLB (Royal Laboratories, Birtley)/1969”. The primer is dated 5/70 (May 1970), a 1969 date, and factory codes denoting British military production.
Condition: Good. The mouth is fairly distorted
