An original collar badge of the 4th Queen’s Own Hussars, dating to the 1896–1901 pattern period. This finely die-struck badge features a white metal “IV” in a circlet that reads “Queen’s Own Hussars” surmounted by the Victorian crown in gilding metal, all rendered in bimetal.
This short-lived pattern was worn in the final years of Queen Victoria’s reign, including during the regiment’s involvement in the Second Boer War, making it a desirable piece for collectors of Victorian cavalry insignia and pre-1902 British Army badges.
The reverse retains its original lugs.
Condition: Very good. Clean overall with minor age-related wear; however, details remain sharp. Original lugs intact but slightly pinched.
Dimensions:
Approx. 31mm x 23mm
