This badge features the initials “CMP” in the centre surmounted by an Imperial (King’s) Crown, all struck in brass. These badges were worn on the service caps of the mounted troopers who patrolled the frontiers and maintained law and order in the Cape Colony.

Fitted with north-south-eyed lugs on the reverse.

Condition: Good, with light service wear and age patina. Lugs on the reverse remain intact, although slightly bent.
