German Bundeswehr Jäger (light infantry) beret badge, 1st Type, dating from the early Cold War period (1950s–1970s). This design was introduced with the formation of the postwar West German Army (Bundeswehr) and represents the earliest style of beret insignia used by the Jägertruppe, or light infantry troops.
Struck in gilt alloy metal, this oval-shaped badge features the distinctive oak leaf surrounded by a roped oval border without the Federal German flag. Fitted with three flat prongs on the reverse.
Condition: Very good, shape is slightly distorted
