A matching pair of anodised aluminium collar badges worn by the Territorial Battalions of the Essex Regiment during the brief post-war period between 1954 and 1959, in the transition to anodised aluminium insignia in the 1950s, replacing earlier brass and gilt types.

 These badges feature the Imperial French Eagle, representative of the French 62nd Regiment of the line captured in the Battle of Salamanca. Designed for wear on the lapels of the No. 2 dress and service dress uniforms, these are right- and left-facing pairs as issued.
