An excellent original example of the Swiss SIG 57 Bayonet, officially designated for the Sturmgewehr 57 (Stgw 57) battle rifle, also known as the SIG 510. The M1957 pattern bayonet features a double-edged steel blade with a sharp spear point and steel crossguard with muzzle ring and diagonally sliding stud locking mechanism.
The bayonet comes complete with its original black plastic scabbard and securing strap for wear in the Schmidt-Rubin frog. These were standard issue with the Swiss Army’s battle rifle from the late 1950s through the Cold War era and remain popular with military collectors due to their quality and design.
