An original British 6-Pounder Mk. IV shell case, dated 1915, manufactured by King’s Norton Metal Co., later repurposed as trench art. The 6-Pounder naval gun was widely employed on Royal Navy warships and auxiliary vessels during the late Victorian and Edwardian periods, continuing in service through the First and into the Second World War.

This shell case is of drawn brass construction with flared rim and stamped base markings, including the date “1915”, and calibre designation. The case has been repurposed into trench art, reflecting its post-service adaptation into a souvenir or commemorative item.
