French M1842/59 carbine bayonet, suitable for cavalry carbines and short infantry carbines of the mid-19th century. Marked on the spine of the blade “Mre Impale de Chat, Fev(?) 18(?)5 (???) 1842”, with usual French inspection marks on the ricasso.
