A scarce Edward VII period button from the Hong Kong Volunteer Corps, worn during the early 20th century when the unit was transitioning into a more structured auxiliary defence force for the colony.


Description

  • Diameter: 24mm

  • Material: White metal (nickel)

  • Design: Features the crowned ERVII belt circlet reading “Hong Kong Volunteer Corps”, surmounted by the Tudor (King’s) Crown, surrounded by a plain background.

  • Reverse: Usually fitted with a fixed shank; often maker-marked by British manufacturers


Condition

Good, with clear detail. Brass shows expected age toning and light wear consistent with period use.
