A well-preserved 23mm gilt uniform button issued for His Majesty’s Customs during the Edwardian era. These buttons were worn on the tunics of Customs officers responsible for enforcing revenue, import, and maritime regulations across the British Empire.


Description

  • Diameter: 23mm

  • Material: Gilt brass

  • Design: Features the Tudor (King’s) crown above a belt circlet that reads “CUSTOMS” with the Royal Cypher “ERVII” in the centre.

  • Reverse: Maker-marked (varies) with shank intact.


Condition

Very good original condition with clear detail. Gilt finish shows age-appropriate wear and patina.
