A contemporary miniature of the Distinguished Conduct Medal as awarded during the Victorian era (1854–1901). Such miniatures were privately purchased for officers’ and senior NCOs’ evening or mess dress and mirror the appearance of the original full-size award.
Description
A faithful miniature representation of the Victorian DCM:

Form: Circular silver (or silvered white metal) medal.

Obverse: The original Victorian obverse shows a Trophy of Arms, designed by Benedetto Pistrucci, incorporating a central shield bearing the Royal Coat of Arms without any inscription, as also seen on the early Army Long Service and Good Conduct Medal.n.

Reverse: Plain background with the wording:
“FOR DISTINGUISHED CONDUCT IN THE FIELD” -
Suspension: Correct ornate swivel suspension bar, as found on the 1854–1901 type.
