Duke of Wellington’s Regiment (The West Riding) cap badge produced as a restrike of the pattern worn by the Duke of Wellington’s Regiment (West Riding) of the British Army. This British Army infantry cap badge displays the recognised insignia of the regiment in clear relief, incorporating the lion waving a banner, with the Duke of Wellington’s ducal coronet and motto “Virtutis Fortuna Comes” (Latin: “Fortune is the companion of virtue”), above a scroll bearing the title “The West Riding,” arranged in a distinctive composition long associated with the regiment.
