Victory Medal, Private Harry Ivatt Jarvis, 10th (Canadians) Battalion CEF

Harry Jarvis was born on the 29th of August 1889 in Fulbeck, Grantham, Lincolnshire, England, and worked as a florist before being attested on the 23rd of September, 1914 in the 103rd (Calgary Rifles) Regiment, which later became the 10th (Canadians) Battalion, Canadian Expeditionary Forces (CEF). He departed for France on the 3rd of October, 1914

He was captured on the 26th of April 1915, likely during the Second Battle of Ypres on Gravenstafel Ridge, which was heavily attacked between the 22nd and 26th April, 1915. He was first marked as missing on the 21st of May 1915. He was unofficially noted as Rennbahn Camp, Munster II (previously a racecourse), Germany, on the 28th of June, 1915, which was confirmed on the 26th of July 1915.

He was released to 36 Camp, Ripon, England, on the 4th of December, 1918. He was then moved to 21st Reserve in Ripon on the 10th of December, 1918, and eventually discharged on the 13th of July, 1919.
