This pattern dates from the early reign of Elizabeth II and reflects the post-Second World War transition to anodised aluminium “staybrite” insignia, which reduced maintenance requirements while retaining clear regimental identity.
The badge design features the regiment’s traditional insignia in relief beneath the Queen’s Crown, incorporating elements associated with Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire heritage. The paired collar badges were worn on both sides of the tunic collar and formed part of the standard British Army service dress system.
