Army Apprentices School collar badge (1947–1953 pattern) – an original example of British Army educational establishment insignia associated with the Army Apprentices Schools of the post-war British Army.
The badge features the distinctive insignia of the Army Apprentices Schools in relief, surmounted by the King’s Crown of George VI. The design reflects the schools’ role in training young soldiers in technical and military skills during the years immediately following the Second World War.
Collar badges of this type were worn in pairs on the collars of service dress uniforms by apprentices undergoing military and vocational training. They served as a visible indication of membership within the Army Apprentices system, which combined military instruction with trade education in fields such as engineering, signals, and technical support.
The Army Apprentices Schools were established to provide the British Army with highly trained technicians and skilled tradesmen.
