Warwickshire Royal Horse Artillery Cap Badge (1908–1919 Pattern), a restrike example of the regimental cap badge associated with the Warwickshire Royal Horse Artillery during the early twentieth-century Territorial Force period. The badge represents the mounted artillery traditions of Warwickshire and the development of the county-based Royal Horse Artillery units following the creation of the Territorial Force in 1908.
The Warwickshire Royal Horse Artillery formed part of the Territorial Force’s field artillery organisation and provided a mounted artillery capability during the years surrounding the First World War. The 1908–1919 pattern is therefore of particular interest to collectors of Territorial Force militaria, Royal Horse Artillery insignia, First World War cap badges, British artillery badges and Warwickshire military history. As a restrike, this example is a later-produced reproduction of the original period pattern rather than an original badge issued during the 1908–1919 period. It remains suitable for display, research and collections where a period-pattern example is required without representing it as an original wartime badge.
