Saskatoon Light Infantry Cap Badge (c.1924–1955 Pattern), a Canadian regimental insignia worn by members of The Saskatoon Light Infantry, a Saskatchewan-based infantry regiment established under that title in 1924. The regiment was redesignated The Saskatoon Light Infantry (Machine Gun) in December 1936 and served during the Second World War, including operations in the Italian campaign. In February 1955, it was amalgamated with The Prince Albert and Battleford Volunteers to form The North Saskatchewan Regiment.
The cap badge design features a maple leaf background bearing a crowned light infantry bugle horn, with regimental title scrolls below. The bugle represents the regiment’s light infantry traditions, while the Crown reflects its allegiance to the Crown. The badge is an example of Canadian military cap insignia from the interwar and Second World War periods, making it of interest to collectors of Canadian regimental badges, Commonwealth militaria and Second World War uniform insignia.
