BELGIUM ORDER of THE CROWN – OFFICER – Full size – Civil – later manufacture flat crown White, Blue Green enamel, silver plate.
Instituted on 15th October 1897 by King Leopold II, and was originally the premier Order of the Congo State, becoming a Belgian Order in 1908. Awarded to those who ‘distinguished themselves in artistic, literary or scientific work’. The Order is in five classes and has been awarded for both Military and Civil service.
Ribbon: 36 mm Reddish-Brown. Watered.
