This medal was instituted on April 6th 1952. It was awarded to those who served volantarily in a unit of the Belgian Armed Forces. The medal could carry the bar ‘Pugnator’ which was awarded to those who took part in combat operations.
Ribbon: 36 mm Pale Blue, divided by eight narrow White stripes.
