The badge features the Maple Leaf backing with the central “18” and scrolls reading “WESTERN ONTARIO / CANADA”, executed in a dark copper finish typical of Canadian Expeditionary Force dress and service uniforms. Designed for attachment to peaked caps or service headdresses, the badge reflects the standard pattern and construction of early 20th-century Canadian military insignia.
