Original Australian Commonwealth Military Forces cap badge, worn between 1904 and 1949 and featuring the Rising Sun design with a King’s Crown in the centre.
Die-struck in copper, this badge was issued to members of the Australian Imperial Force (AIF) and Commonwealth Military Forces, and would have seen widespread use during both World War I and World War II. The scroll beneath the sunburst reads “AUSTRALIAN COMMONWEALTH MILITARY FORCES”, identifying it as a pre-1950 example—before the redesign of the badge in the post-war era.
The reverse retains its original east-west eyed lugs for attachment to slouch hats or service caps.
